The rural house
A perfect place to enjoy a relaxing stay in the middle of nature
The Garabilla Rural House, named after the neighborhood of the same name (Garabilla or Garavilla) in the village of Llanteno, in the heart of the Ayala Valley, was built as a tower house in the 17th century by the Diego family. Initially, the farmhouse consisted of the main house and a stable for the animals. Later, various outbuildings were added as needed, eventually becoming a completely self-sufficient farmhouse. Thus, in the 20th century, the farmhouse comprised the main house, stables, an oven, a hayloft, a water trough, a washhouse, sheds, cabins, and a barber’s shop.
Currently, Casa Rural Garabilla maintains the same structure as in its origins but adapted to the tourist needs of the moment.
Opened in July 2010
The house is surrounded by mountains and vegetation, so each room is named after the mountain it overlooks. Furthermore, the house is located on the northern route of the Camino de Santiago, and its symbol is a pilgrim.
The rooms of the Rural House are adapted to people with disabilities, without architectural barriers, adapted bathrooms, Braille signage, acoustic and luminous signage.
